Lacerta Group Launches Innovative Seal N' Flip Packaging for Reduced Waste and Costs
Lacerta Group has unveiled its latest packaging innovation, Seal N' Flip, offering a smarter, more sustainable solution for prepared foods. Unlike traditional containers, this design moves the lidding film to the bottom of the package, cutting plastic use by up to 50% and reducing packaging costs by as much as 25%.
Made from PET and incorporating Lacerta’s proprietary post-consumer recycled material, ReCerta, Seal N' Flip supports sustainability goals by including at least 10% FDA-approved recycled content. The design is aimed at sandwiches, wraps, and other refrigerated grab-and-go foods, providing both environmental and operational benefits.
Beyond sustainability, Seal N' Flip enhances the shopping experience. By placing the seal underneath and standing products vertically, it gives products a premium, front-facing display that catches shoppers’ attention. “Consumers shop with their eyes first,” said Craig Muldrew, Lacerta’s VP of marketing, emphasizing how the vertical orientation helps products stand out in crowded refrigerated sections.
The packaging also delivers on functionality, offering tamper resistance, leak protection, and compatibility with existing production lines. For brands looking to differentiate their offerings while cutting waste, Seal N' Flip provides a practical solution that aligns with both operational needs and growing environmental expectations.
Lacerta plans to make Seal N' Flip widely available starting in August and can deliver customized versions in just six to eight weeks. Learn more about this topic here.
