Robotic Rotational Molding May Become Increasingly Popular in Industry
Robotic Rotational Molding May Become Increasingly Popular in Industry
Due to increasing demand and complexity of molded plastic products new technologies are constantly implemented in the molding arena. One such technology is robotic rotational molding, a leading-edge molding technology that may produce enhanced molded products. Robotic rotational molding uses molds with integrated heating elements that enable precise temperature control of multiple heating and cooling zones. The technology also features six rotational axes that allow for better range of motion and control; featuring independently controlled speed and duration settings for each axis of rotation. The process has several advantages including but not limited to customized material flow, enhanced uniform material distribution, optimal material use, elimination of labor intensive processes, and reduced cycle times. Robotic rotational molding is a highly efficient and consistent process that can be used in industries where precision and consistency is key including aerospace, military, and OEM. The leading edge molding technology enhances process control, design flexibility, and product aesthetics. Learn more here.

Major Molding Equipment Firm Declares Insolvency
Major Molding Equipment Firm Declares Insolvency
Extrusion blow molding equipment manufacturer Kautex Maschinenbau declared its production site located at its headquarters at Bonn, Germany to be insolvent. The company has been undergoing a strategic transformation since 2019 which it calls a “global transformation process”. The transformation was partly influenced by the automotive industry’s shift to electric vehicles. The company made tangible progress in the implementation of its global corporate strategy. It was also making good progress in establishing an effective framework to obtain a leading position in the future mobility and industrial packaging sectors. But Unfortunately various external factors such as the war in Ukraine, inflation, the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain bottlenecks, and a shortage of skilled workers in Germany, have ultimately harmed the firm’s transitional plan. Despite insolvency the company plans to move forward with its plans to develop their Bonn facility into an “innovation and service center with associated production of sustainable high-end technologies”. The firm also communicates that the insolvency will not affect the company’s operations in Shunde, China. The firm is reportedly in negotiations with several potential investors. Learn more here.
